Capinfo Licenses MeshNetworks' Technology for Digital Beijing
Network Provider to Use MeshNetworks Enabled Architecture in Thousands of Olympic Information Kiosks

MAITLAND, FL - April 19, 2004 - MeshNetworks, Inc., an industry leader in the development and commercialization of mobile mesh networking solutions, and Capinfo Company Limited, the designated provider of telecommunications solutions for the Beijing Olympics in 2008, announced today that Capinfo’s affiliate company has acquired an OEM license to the MeshNetworks Enabled Architecture (MEA™) suite of wireless networking products. Under the terms of the agreement, Capinfo will be developing and deploying MEA based products as a key part of the Digital Beijing initiative. The initial focus is on installing MEA wireless technology and chipsets in up to 5,000 interactive information kiosks throughout Beijing, allowing residents and visitors to get real-time information and Olympic highlights throughout the city.

Capinfo, which is publicly traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and primarily owned by the Beijing Municipal Government, has already undertaken the operation and maintenance of many major city and Olympic information-oriented projects in Beijing. The Digital Beijing information kiosks are self-service terminals that are being installed in public venues; on city streets, in local communities, governmental departments, shops, hotels, office buildings, hospitals, exhibition halls and restaurants throughout Beijing. Each Digital Beijing information kiosk will provide the public with touch screen capabilities, value-added services such as information inquiry and rich multimedia-based content.

The MEA mobile mesh solution allows vehicles, mobile devices and individuals to instantly and securely connect directly with each other and to the public telephone network, Internet and private networks for access to voice, video and data services. The patented MEA technology creates a distributed web of connections across all devices in the network in which each device acts as router/repeaters for every other device in the network. The result is a robust interconnected network that automatically routes around congestion, failures and line-of-sight obstacles. Finally, MEA simplifies interoperability between a wide variety of devices, databases and networks via end-to-end support for industry standard Internet Protocol (IP).
