MeshNetworks and Innotech Partner to Develop FireGround Safety and Communications Solution
Guardian Safety System to Leverage MeshNetworks’ Mobile Ad Hoc Wireless & Position Location Technology

MAITLAND, FL and QUEENSLAND, AU – November 17, 2003 – MeshNetworks Inc., a leader in the development of mobile ad hoc broadband networking, today announced that it is partnering with Innotech Pty. Ltd. to incorporate MeshNetworks Enabled Architecture (MEA™) technology in Innotech’s Guardian Safety System. Innotech is the latest company to join the MeshNetworks MeshPartner™ Alliance program.

The Innotech Guardian Safety System uses Innotech-patented technology to offer the ultimate in firefighting communications, resource management and accountability. The system combines a portable radio interface, incident control and telemetry. It will use MeshNetworks’ MEA solution to track the location of firefighters at emergency incidents and link them through an ad hoc, peer-to-peer wireless broadband network.

“Inadequate communications and limited incident scene command capabilities magnify the risk firefighters face in extreme situations,” said Graham Croome, Team Leader of the Innotech Guardian Safety Systems project. “Innotech’s Guardian Safety System project, empowered by the tremendous innovation of MeshNetworks’ position tracking and mobile ad hoc peer-to-peer broadband networking, can help save the lives of firefighters.”

The MEA solution is a self-forming, self-healing networking technology, developed by MeshNetworks, enabling emergency personnel to instantly communicate with each other, the Internet, public safety networks, or government systems. MEA solutions ensure transparency between a wide variety of devices, databases and interagency networks with end-to-end support for industry standard Internet Protocol (IP). The result is a robust, tactical communications system for first responders.

“Innotech addresses the key problems facing firefighters today: complete situational management, reliable on-scene communications, and the real-time tracking/location of firefighters,” said Richard Licursi, president and CEO for MeshNetworks. “We are pleased that MeshNetworks’ technology will enable Innotech to improve efficiency and safety at an incident, where these benefits can be measured in saved lives and property.”

Since its inception in 2002, MeshNetworks and its partners have been offering innovative mobile broadband solutions for a wide variety of applications and industries. MeshNetworks continues to actively pursue partnerships with major industry participants in the mobile data, public safety, telematics, transportation and consumer markets. To date, the company’s technology is undergoing trials by more than 40 customers in ten countries.
