MeshNetworks is revolutionizing the way wireless networks are built. Unlike traditional cellular and other point-to-multipoint wireless networks, its ad hoc (mesh) technology and products leverage the same architecture and protocols used to create the Internet - and makes them mobile. Since the founding of the company in March 2000, MeshNetworks has focused on mobile ad hoc networking, radio modulation and position/location technology.
The Company is recognized as the leading developer of high performance and scalable mobile ad hoc networking technology. It has developed unique Intellectual Property and has patented an extensive portfolio of fundamental ad hoc networking, position location and other core technologies.
MeshNetworks has successfully licensed its technology, chipset and product reference designs to a wide variety of wireless industry leaders. Its line of MeshNetworks-Enabled Architecture (MEA™) products has been deployed in some of the world’s largest location-aware mobile broadband networks. MEA technology is also available in the MeshConnex Software Suite, a complete development environment for OEMs who require state of the art and proven ad hoc networking for industry standard radio platforms.
The Company currently has approximately 70 employees, of which 85% have technical degrees, many at the Masters and PhD level. The management team consists of industry veterans who have successfully built several telecommunications companies into market leaders.
MeshNetworks has developed strategic alliances with IBM, ITOCHU, Fujitsu, 3Com, ITT Industries, Viasys and other industry leaders.
Current investors include Bank Boston, Apax Partners, Redwood Ventures, 3Com Ventures, Itochu and undisclosed strategic investors.
